Early Learning Program

KCLC Early Learning is a high quality early learning program that has passionate and dedicated educators.  Our Early Learning Program is a vital program within our wider community program.  Our team of high quality educators partner with families to provide the environment that will develop a life long love of learning and confident, connected and happy children.

About KCLC Early Learning

KCLC Early Learning is based in a community based not for profit, registered charity. KCLC was founded in 1983 by members of our community who came together because they could see a better future and believed in coming together to take action to thake our whole community together to a better future.

Our service operates as a hub based model with a variety of services, supports, activities and to work with our communities become vibrant, resilient, engaged and connected with both the community they belong to and the environment in which they live.

Still to this day KCLC relies on the connection to community and the work of volunteers to make real grassroots change that benefits our wider community and ensures no one is left behind.

KCLC Early Learning focuses on the learning environment children experienced in KCLC Early Learning Programs.  KCLC focus areas for childhood development include

  • Regular access to both our own learning space, as well as community spaces which include Jaycee Park and the Kyabram Community Garden and Traffic School and Kyabram Fauna Park.

  • Believing and living knowing children and families are the experts in their situation and know where they need to focus their learning.

  • Nature based play and using real tools wherever possible.  Limiting the use of toys within the room, instead using real items wherever possible.

  • Risky play is a cornerstone to our program.  Taking managed and supported risks are important to children and a key function of play.

  • Sustainability is a multifaceted approach.

    • Recycling of paper and cardboards, glass and cans.

    • Recycling of food scraps with chickens and compost

    • Recycling of items to include in children's learning and play

    • Planting and tending to plants and animals within our programs

Thank you both for your support around the children, at times these processes can be cumbersome for our families and a barrier to accessing ELC services.
